Another feature of the upcoming version of BlogJet is protection for your work.

…it happens. With all these bugs in firewalls, unreliable proxies, Windows bugs, maybe BlogJet bugs, there is a small, very small chance that BlogJet freezes when publishing your post.

Upcoming version of BlogJet has the protection against this. Now when you click “Publish”, BlogJet saves your work. And if it freezes, just terminate it. The next time you lauch BlogJet, it will ask you if you want to restore your work:

WordPress.com is open to public! And it’s free.

Here’s the tip on how to post pictures to your WordPress.com with BlogJet 1.5/1.6 beta 1: when creating account in BlogJet, select “Movable Type API” instead of “WordPress”.

This feature is so cool that I can’t wait to show it to you. The upcoming release of BlogJet will have Auto Replace feature:

You can assign a text to any word you type and the will be replaced with it.

For example, I have a HTML code assigned for “BlogJet”: <a href=”http://blogjet.com”>BlogJet</a>. When I type BlogJet… bang! It’s being replaced with a link.

Or – see this Chitika keyword? When I type Chitika it’s being replaced with my affiliate link to this system.

Oh, what if you create a keyword for “Apple” to replace it with “Microsoft”?  
This will be useful for Scoble now: if he created a rule for “Microsoft”, “Yahoo” and “Google” to replace with “I promised not to write about it”…

“For those of you who do blogging on this website, I foremost would like to thank you for your wonderful and inspirational writings. Many of you could have easily been writers by trade. I admire it so much.

If you do have a blog here or anywhere else really. There is a very nice blogging tool available. I have tried a few different blog software applicatiosn and though i would share my favorite one with you. It is called BlogJet.

Rather than wasting your time with images here, I will just give the link to the screenshots here.

It is a very powerful tool, and it makes blogging actually easier than writing a forum post. Excellent support for images too, and wrapping text around the images.

It is software that you must buy. However there are many places to get a key generator for it. Not that I am endorsing pirated software, but I know sometimes it simply can not be afforded and a key generator will usually buy you the extra month or so until you do have the money to buy the program. I can not honestly say that I do not use keygens, but I can honestly say that if the software is worth the money I will purchase the asking price. I have bought this, it is that good.

This software is so self contained that you can type your blog right from your desktop with no browser and publish whenever you are ready, great for those who write only a little a day, or want extra time to edit without using their browser and being connected to the internet.

I really hope you at least give it a shot, if you don't care for it, I will still be happy you tried it out. I happen to prefer this software over traditional blogging and postings and I am sure most of you will too.”

WordPress.com is a new hosted blogging service from WordPress creators (it’s currently in closed beta).

Configuring BlogJet to work with it is very easy:

Provider:  WordPress
Host: yourname.wordpress.com
Page: /xmlrpc.php

Where yourname is your account name (just write your blog’s URL in Host).

Blogger.com is implementing captcha to prevent creating splogs (spam weblogs). That means if you post to Blogger with BlogJet, you’ll have to logon to your Blogger web admin panel and type in some numbers from picture.

You will not be forced to enter these numbers every time you publish a post – AFAIK, only sometimes. However, there seems to be a bug that makes you pass through the validation process each time you post. Blogger developers know about this and will fix the bug soon.

Flock is a social web browser. Among its features it has a blog client.

Before they had a downloadable version, I seriously considered the competition with Flock. Now that I downloaded this app, I’m not afraid anymore. It won’t replace BlogJet.

Remember Mozilla Suite? It has a browser, a mail client, an IRC client, a web page editor, etc. – all in one. A few people used it. When Mozilla Foundation separated web browser from mail client – Firefox and Thunderbird, the user-base began to grow.

I didn’t use Mozilla Suite. Then I began using Firefox. I liked it so much that I downloaded Thunderbird to try. And I liked it too, so now I use Firefox and Thunderbird.

And while integrating social bookmarks with browser seems obvious, I don’t  know what other tools are doing there. Fashion? You know, all those cool words like social, RSS, blogs, tagging.

It may seem obvious that blog editor developer will say something like this, yeah? But, really, guys, I’m a user too, so I judge from my (user) point of view.

There’s also an argument that Flock will replace platform-specific apps. You know what? I’ve got a Mac. I use Safari, NetNewsWire, and ecto. No cross-platform apps here? That’s because I want to use only the BEST things, I want to get the most of every platform.

The bottom line: Flock have a cool browser (since it’s based on Firefox), great social bookmarking integration, crippled feed aggregator, and crippled blog editor.

I’ll stick to Firefox, FeedDemon and BlogJet.

P.S. But hey, I like Flock. Because they’ll show more people how to use blog editors. More people learn blog editors => more people want BlogJet . Thanks, guys!

P.P.S. Oh, and you can blog right from Firefox with this extension.

I’m happy to announce that an updated BlogJetThis! Firefox extension which is compatible with Firefox 1.5 Beta 2 available.

Update: Just want to give a credit to James Avery and Grant Carpenter for creating the original BlogJetThis extension. It’s their extension that was modified by me.

There’s a competitor to BlogJet. I won’t call its name but it has something to do with rockets and posts . One more hint: it costs $150.

I’ve noticed it when I typed “blogjet” in Google and found its AdWords ad that claimed: “Faster than BlogJet” (update: now it’s smarter ). He-he. I sent a letter to Google and ask them to remove this ad. They didn’t answer. That’s OK ‘cause I don’t care too much. Maybe I should put an ad on “blogjet” keyword: “Don’t believe this guy”?

OK. Today I surfed and found their page. What did I see? “It’s the only blog editor with WYSIWYG editing”. Ha-ha. Have you seen BlogJet? WB Editor? Qumana? Sure you have, since you advertise with “Faster than BlogJet” slogan.

The guy just doesn’t get the nature of the Web and the power of blogs. If you don’t tell the truth, somebody will notice it and blog about it. Then somebody else will see the post and blog about it. Then everyone will be blogging that you’re a liar. Do you want this to happen? No? Tell the truth.

I’m trying out Blogjet http://blogjet.com which lets you blog when not connected to the Internet and the upload your words of wisdom when back home. As I spend much of my day sat on one of these (see pic) with a laptop and no Internet access that might be useful – no I’m not counting the days until One Railways introduce wireless broadband on the train...
