I’ve done a mini-interview with Jack Trout for my Russian marketing-related blog. I decided to publish it here too. If you don’t know who Jack is, you don’t know what “positioning” means.
Dmitry Chestnykh: What do you think about weblogs (blogs)?
Jack Trout: Like "letters to the editor" in newspapers, some are interesting. But most are of little value. If you're going to read, there are many books far better than blogs. I don't read blogs because they are not properly edited.
Dmitry Chestnykh: How do you think marketers can use the power of direct talk with customers via blogs?
Jack Trout: Maybe. But you have to organize them so that opinions represent a good cross-section of your market.
Dmitry Chestnykh: Do you think blogsphere will be a 'PR-medium of the 21st century'?
Jack Trout: Blogs that are perceived as "independent" might have some PR value. If not, they will lose credibility or third party validity.
Dmitry Chestnykh: Thank you very much for your answers! Keep up a good work.
